Oak Orchard, Delaware History - City Information
Nestled upon the Indian River Bay, lies a very
small, unincorporated community called Oak Orchard. This tiny neighborhood lies
along Route 24 and Route 5, just west of the quaint area of Long Neck, Delaware.
This eccentric area has been home of the Nanticoke Indian Tribe for 2,000 years
and is also home to the Nanticoke Indian Museum. Still happening today is this
tribes yearly powwow! Oak Orchard is also home to the Oak Orchard /Riverdale
Post of the American Legion.
The remote community of Oak Orchard gives one the
feeling of being out in the country, yet with all the advantages of residing
upon the beautiful Indian River Bay. Close by is the city of Millsboro which
offers residents and guests alike, many niceties of city life. For those who are
connoisseurs of nature and outside activities, Millsboro offers two delightful
ponds. Millsboro pond is is an ideal place to go and enjoy the cool breezes and
warm sun especially during the season when the eagles roost! These eagle are

Course offers both pros and beginners a challenging, 18 hole championship
course. The Emerald Greens is a golf course that is filled with natural beauty
and preserved marshlands, gracing all it's visitors with a peaceful and serene
game as they play amongst the stunning and captivating atmosphere. Also near to
Oak Orchard is the lovely beach resort city of Rehoboth Beach where one can
enjoy all the amenities that beach life has to offer. Rehoboth Beach has images
so eye-catching and fetching, with it's sandy beaches, crashing waves, seagulls
squawking and the warm, bright sun glistening on the vast Atlantic Ocean. It
hosts the renown Boardwalk where one can stroll and enjoy slice of hot , cheesy
pizza from Grotto's, salt water taffy or delicious old fashioned funnel cakes.
For avid shoppers, Tanger Outlets offers over 130 name brand shops that are sure
to grant every shopper their every need as well as desire!( Tax free at that!)
For more eccentric tastes, downtown Rehoboth has classy and unique boutiques
with many delightful eateries to stop into while enjoying hours of browsing.
Another neighboring city is the romantic,
seafaring community of Lewes. In just one day, visitors to Lewes will be
surprised to see how that in just such a short amount of time, such wonderful
