Sussex well known for tax free shopping

The Tanger Outlets, located along both sides of Del. 1 between Lewes and Rehoboth Beach, is the largest factory outlet on the Delmarva Peninsula.
The county's resort towns of Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach are as renowned for their quality shopping as they are for their beaches. Each town is blessed with an abundance of shops that make them perfect for whiling away the time as you look for that special bargain. Halfway between Lewes and Rehoboth Beach are the Tanger Outlets, featuring more than 140 different stores in three centers along a two-mile stretch of Del. 1. Tanger Outlets is the largest factory outlet in the tax-free state of Delaware, the largest factory outlet on the Delmarva Peninsula, the sixth-largest outlet in the nation, and is considered by the state and local departments of tourism as a state "attraction." Shoppers in eastern Sussex are also able to meet their home improvement needs at the Lowe's Supercenter and The Home Depot, both in Lewes. For shoppers who prefer to search for more home-spun diversions, the town of Laurel offers Bargain Bill's Flea Market and the Route 13 Market. These two shopping attractions, only miles apart along U.S. 13, house hundreds of merchants who are open on weekends. In western Sussex, Seaford's 24-hour WalMart Super Center draws shoppers from throughout the region. The store boasts a grocery section, banking, cafe-style dining, a complete lawn and garden department, as well as a broad range of household and dry goods. The Arkansas-based retailer also has locations in Milford, Georgetown and Rehoboth Beach. Sussex County is also an antiquing adventure. Every town in the county boasts at least one antiques shop, with perhaps the greatest concentration along Del. 404 between Bridgeville and Lewes. Locals and visitors also know that during summer and autumn the county's roadsides offer the best produce stand shopping around. Many visitors make sure that stopping at a Sussex County produce stand is the last thing they do before heading home.
